5,040 Horsepower.
That’s what you get when you combine a dozen high-horsepower (to me they are, at least) super saloons. What’s needed to get them together for a romp around arguably the most famous city in the world? A bit of luck, some radio communication, and a group of willing enthusiasts who desire to convene to make an awesome sight – an awesome sight it was:
The morning started off with 3 for a quasi-preshoot. I rode shotgun with Kris and went to the meet-up site by 8:30. There we greeted Darryl and Kevin to result in two Phantom blacks and a Daytona Gray. With no accent colored cars, I decided a desaturated tone was in order to take away the distractions from the green background and draw the eye to the cars itself. Others worked with its natural colors present.
I also randomly threw on the 85 f/1.8 for the detail shots to add some depth via bokeh. Of course what really helped was how immaculate each car was.
Afterwards we headed to the museum on the west side of Central park and awaited for the remainder of the gang to arrive. Slowly, they trickled in and as we were readying to leave, a group of policeman rode by and parked across the street. One detective ended up taking interest in the cars and after a brief discussion about the cars, he decided he’d block traffic for us so we can make the U-turn to head across Central Park.
This worked out beautifully, and soon enough, we were going across the Park, heading downtown towards Columbus Circle. Below are some along the way and as we rounded Columbus Circle a few times.
We headed further downtown, stopping along the way in Times Square, and alongside Washington Square Park. Don’t ask how we managed to park ourselves together in such a busy place, because it was a bit of luck on our sides.
At Washington Square Park, we ran across two fellows who were a bit taken back from the sight before them. Can’t you tell?
Next and final stop? Brooklyn. I’m sure you’ll notice the bridge.
It took some patience to get this parking spot all lined up as other cars were taking up some prime spots. They eventually left and about an hour was spent at this final location.
Again, many thanks to all those RennSport4 owners coming as far away as Philadelphia and Connecticut. It was certainly a unique photo opportunity.
